Ouch. 🤕🤯😤 Nothing is harder than dealing with the tough shit while simultaneously being tough for the little humans around me.
One day they will know ALL there is to know but today is not that day. Today we laugh after school, have pizza and maybe some ice cream, take our family walk and go to bed safe, smiling and thanking God we have each other.
My emotional growth and healing continues to be tested but I will not allow the past to harm our future no matter how much these events knock me down and take my focus. I will keep getting up and fighting for our toxic free life.

Tacos or their variation go down multiple nights a week in our house. We don’t leave this amazing meal to Tuesday only.
Add 2 T. of this taco seasoning to any 1lb of meat 🙂
We double the recipe above and add to a big spice jar. We are serious about our Tacos, and make 2 lbs of chicken turkey or beef at least when we cook.

When your insides don’t match your outsides, it’s time for a scan.
The last couple weeks have been a LOT emotionally. Just when you think you’re in a place of peace and healing the past can find its way to disrupt that.
This week brought challenges that tested the work I’ve done since we left. I clung to my faith and hope, gave myself grace to breakdown, + didn’t let the ones who harmed me bring me back to that place. We might have to still deal with some unfortunate circumstances but if we continue to focus on the growth and healing, the current situation of those who wronged us will not disrupt our families happiness + peace. 🖤🖤🖤

He puts up with my sass, makes me laugh til we fall asleep + brings me ice cream in bed after a really shitty day.
He never lets me felt weak or incapable. He does this by being my partner and tackling life together. We make the best team. Some days I get soo freaking scared that simply having him as ours is just too good to be true.
Days like yesterday are our reality, dealing with crap out of our control but staying the course as a family. We go to bed laughing + loving ready to tackle a new day together.
I can’t stop the madness that we have to survive but I can link arms with this guy as we face the chaos and I know we will be ok. 🖤🖤🖤

#fuckthatguy has caused both his parents to come out of retirement since we left to support him. He’s been arrested 6 times in the last 6 months ++ today it looks like his Mommy put up their HOME to allow him freedom.
Freedom to keep using meth and heroin (he’s upgraded his DOC since we left😷), steal cars + multiple identities plus get a brand NEW domestic.
Yes, NEW. 😫 He was served yet another DOMESTIC ORDER from his most recent girlfriend during this jail stay. He did enough to have her file and get her order, yet his MOM thinks bonding him out is the way to go. 😫🙀🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

You’d think I would want to wish bad upon her but the reality is having that as your son has to suck. I’m not sure you can wish much worse on a person than being responsible for spawning a deadbeat junkie.

My journey to quit alcohol hasn’t been much different. My only goal was to go to bed without having a drink and repeat the next day. I didn’t want to give myself rules or follow someone’s way. I didn’t want to label myself or make myself do a certain amount of meetings or steps.
It’s the same way I have success in the gym. Just go. Forget about leg day, arm day or how much ab work you did the day before. Just get there and move your body, the rest will fall into to place.
I can’t drink alcohol like most so to fully feel this new and beautiful life I’ve been GIFTed I choose to be present with a clear mind and soul.
I will keep choosing that today + repeat tomorrow. 🥰👏🏼🌱💦🙌🏼

I haven’t been away from Nolan this long EVER and it’s been a long time since I’ve had multiple nights without the boys let alone Kiki.😢 I’m drinking so much water so I can limited the effects of the altitude on my body. I usually have a rough first couple days adjusting but NOT THIS time! I’m determined to kick this trip off healthy and feeling amazing. First alcohol free vacation and I’m ready to feel my best THE WHOLE TIME!
